December 4, 2008 5:08 pm UTC 4 CommentsThe transporters currently used in NASCAR are 53 foot Featherlite trailers that are custom built from the frame up. These trucks are multimillion dollar machines that travel over 60,000 miles per racing season. The average gas mileage for one of these behemoths is around 4.5 miles per gallon! They also serve as traveling billboards for the team sponsors as they travel from race to race.

Hey Steve, you ought to by your girlfriend a “NOT FOR HIRE” t-shirt. She (or you) would get a kick out of it.
