Did you see the reaction of Tony Eury Jr when his cuz’ Dale Earnhardt Jr over-shot his pit during last Sunday’s Daytona 500

The Fox Sports cameras caught Eury Jr turning away and burying face in hands. I can only imagine what he was thinking. Mostly, I’m sure, he was planning the team’s strategy for getting lost track position back and getting the No 88 into contention again.

But it was almost funny, in a bloggishly sick way. I mean, part of him had to at least think “now how are they going to blame THIS ONE on me?”

And then his driver - the guy who has never done anything wrong - at least not unforgivably so - blames the whole thing on too many pink pit boards. Well, who chose PINK!?

It was Eury!

GET A ROPE!

Could be a long season for Tony Jr.

[...] On Pit Row’s Charlie  blames Dale Jr.’s problem’s, on the lovely pit road signs. The Dude  sees some upcoming problem’s in Digger’s personal life with Annie and the Aflac Duck. He is a Prophet too, youknow. John Daly thinks he thinks he is, anyway. [...]

I really feel for Tony Jr. he’s great at what he does - or Rick Hendrick wouldn’t pay him to do it - and he just can’t win. Because of his driver, IMHO.

After all pink is the new red–as in red faced. Maybe ESM (Evil Step Mom) was right. Junior can’t get focused on whether he is a media darling or a race car driver. There–I said it. He certainly didn’t show much racer last week. Maybe he just needs to be around some fruits and nuts.

I’ll tell you what, I’ll blame Tony or at the very least Jr’s spotter for not telling him that the car he is racing for the lucky dog was Vickers. Based on the post race interview it was clear to me that Jr thought Vickers was on the lead lap and that he was the lucky dog at the time of the incident - so why didn’t he know? Nobody told him. I think Jr would have raced Vickers differently if he knew that Vickers’ car was for position I mean he though Vickers was going to let him pass and imagine his suprise when Vickers blocked him - no wonder he reacted the way he did - not that I’m making excuses, I still think what hapened to Vickers was wrong.

As far as the pit road stuff goes all Jr’s fault pure and simple.

Got something to say?
