Bloggers love lists. And everybody loves bobbleheads. Our Shell Gasolines’ Top Five of the Week contest gives you the chance to win a Kevin Harvick bobblehead. All you have to do is give us your list.
We want your five best reasons that Kevin Harvick could win the 2008 Sprint Cup Chase to the Championship.
Leave your list in the comments section of this post. Be creative and have fun with it. One list per comment, please. The contest will run through Thursday September 12. We’ll pick the best list and Shell will send you a Happy Harvick Head.
Last week, L J Burgess was our winner. The comments were great. You can read more of L J’s writing here.
The Shell Gasolines’ Top Five of the Week is brought to you by Shell - reminding you to help keep your engines gunk-free and running at their best by using high-quality gasolines like Shell.

1. Everyone knows that if you don’t perform in the first race of the Chase, you’re at a huge disadvantage for the following nine. Harvick won this race in 2006 and has only finished outside the top 20 at Loudon three times, the last in summer 2005. RCR also won this race last year with Clint Bowyer, and Harvick led 54 laps at Loudon in July.
2. Happy’s also been pretty good at Kansas in recent years, his 16.1 average finish fourth best of drivers to compete in all seven races at the track.
3. Of the Chase drivers for this year, Harvick’s 14.1 average finish at Talladega is fourth best - always important at a track that can take out 20 cars at a time. Harvick has never failed to finish a Talladega race, proving he’s capable of avoiding the big one.
4. Kevin’s average finish of 10.1 at Homestead, home of the season finale, tops all Chase drivers but Carl Edwards. Yes, this includes former KHI teammate and two-time race winner Tony Stewart (12.2), three-time race winner Greg Biffle (12.7), and yes, the great Jimmie Johnson (13.4).
5. If you can fill in for one of the most popular drivers in NASCAR history, winning in your third career Cup start and winning a Grand National the same season without so much as blinking, what CAN’T you do?
